Connecting the Arctic Mail Route Kittilä (FIN) - Alta (NOR)

The Arctic Postal Route is a weekly transport service for cyclists and other hikers from Äkäslompolo/Kolari/Kittilä to the Arctic Ocean in the town of Alta during the main cycling season in Lapland, i.e. in autumn. A minibus and a bike trailer transport 8 cyclists and their equipment at a time. The bikes are handled with care to avoid transport problems.

It is also possible to transport just a bike box, bike or other equipment in intermodal transport.

Schedule

2025 transport will take place on Saturdays from 2.8. to 27.9. The planned travel dates are therefore Sat 2.8.25, Sat 9.8.25, Sat 16.8.25, Sat 23.8.25, Sat 30.8.25, Sat 6.9.25, Sat 13.9.25, Sat 20.9.25 and Sat 27.9.25. The trip will take place when at least 2 passengers book the transport.

 

Meeting at 5:00 at Levin Zero Point (Hissitie 8, 99130 Kittilä). We load the bikes into cars and trailers designed for bicycle transport. The minibus has places for cyclists.

Departure time is around 5:30 am. The final timetable depends on the stops.

Transporting a cyclist, bike and equipment from South to North: 159 euros

Transport of just the bike, bike box or equipment in one direction: 59 euros

Tickets must be purchased in advance from the online store. After buying the ticket, send us an e-mail at sales@polarstartravel.fi information about where you get on and where you get off.
